Responsible AI: from talk to action

Artificial intelligence is already turning our societies upside down. It is transforming the way we work, treat ourselves, produce and make decisions. But it is also raising major questions: about our freedoms, about the transparency of decisions, about biases, about environmental impact. In this context, everyone is talking about ‘responsible’ AI. Charters, guidelines and codes of ethics are flourishing. But ‘Responsible AI cannot be limited to declarations of principles: it has to live in the technological choices, the business processes and the governance of projects. Responsible AI means moving from the ‘what’ to the ‘how’, and from rhetoric to action.

Biography: Rim Tehraoui is founder and CEO of Aryam, an impact start-up specialising in AI for the agro-ecological transition. As well as running her start-up, Rim is a member of the France 2030 pool of digital experts and chairs the Hub France IA, a not-for-profit association and key player working for the development and adoption of responsible, ethical and sovereign AI by the entire economic fabric. Her work as Chair of OS Climate, the Linux Foundation's NGO, also underlines her deep commitment to using technology for positive impact. Prior to these roles, Rim was the first Chief Data Officer of the BNP Paribas Group, where she implemented and led the bank's data and AI strategy, serving the dual transformation of digital and sustainable development. Throughout her career, she has also developed expertise in ESG risk management as well as structured finance, capital management and asset-liability management. Rim is a graduate of ENSAE Paris Tech and Sciences Po Paris. |
