Embedded AI : challenges and solutions
By Pierre Gaillard, Researcher-Engineer, CEA LIST

Deep neural networks have established themselves as the dominant solution for many applications. However, their increasing complexity requires substantial computing power, which presents considerable obstacles for deployment in embedded and real-time contexts. This presentation explores the challenges and fundamental concepts of embedded AI and introduces Aidge (https://gitlab.eclipse.org/eclipse/aidge), an independent open-source platform designed to develop deep neural networks for resource-constrained environments.

Biography: Pierre Gaillard holds a Ph.D. in Machine Learning from the University of Technology of Compiègne, along with engineering and master's degrees in computer science and information systems. With over a decade of experience leading data-driven innovation, he thrives on bridging the gap between advanced data processing, artificial intelligence, and real-world industrial applications. Currently program manager at CEA, he leads the DeepGreen project, an initiative to develop Eclipse Aidge, an open source platform dedicated to embedded AI.
