Storing and manipulating data is simply storing and manipulating 0s and 1s... but add a little encoding and the possibilities become endless. In this talk, I invite you to discover some data structures, their uses and their pitfalls: Embedding or how ChatGPT manages to tell stories ; dates or how satellites manage to fail on December 31, 2024 ; or finally our good old strings of characters for which even in 2025 two identical words can be different. 

Biography: Arnaud Pichery is a software engineer with a strong passion for building software. He currently serves as the VP of Engineering at Dataiku, a leading AI and machine learning platform. In this role, he leads the teams responsible for developing the core of Dataiku DSS, which aims to increase efficiency and productivity for data scientists and analysts.

Arnaud's career began in California, where he worked on the early development of the Microsoft .NET platform. His experience spans over 20 years, during which he has consistently worked on topics that interest him the most, reflecting his dedication and enthusiasm for the field.

Arnaud's journey from a self-taught developer to a leader in the software engineering field highlights his commitment to continuous learning and innovation. His contributions to Dataiku and other organizations have significantly impacted the development of AI and machine learning technologies, making him a notable figure in the tech industry.
